There comes a moment when life as you know it no longer feels like enough. For our family, that moment arrived quietly at first, a gentle tug on our hearts that grew louder each day. God was calling us—not just me, not just one of us, but our whole family—to step out in faith, to leave behind the familiar, the comfortable, and the life we had carefully built, and to follow Him into the unknown.

The decision was far from easy. We had a home filled with memories, routines that made life predictable, and a sense of security that felt hard to walk away from. We had jobs, friends, and all the familiar rhythms of everyday life. Yet, despite all of that, the call in our hearts was undeniable. God was asking us to trust Him completely, to step into a new life that only He could prepare.
We wrestled with fear. How would we manage the unknown? Could we really provide for our kids? Were we ready to give up everything we knew? And yet, in the quiet moments, we felt a peace that didn’t make sense in human terms. It was the assurance that God was already going ahead of us, laying the path, and that if we stepped forward together, He would guide every step.
Leaving it all behind didn’t mean abandoning life—it meant surrendering control. It meant letting go of our plans, our comfort, and our expectations, and trusting God’s plan over our own. And we did it together, as a family, leaning on one another and holding tightly to the promise that He is faithful, even in the unknown.
The journey was not without its challenges. There were moments of doubt, days when the uncertainty felt overwhelming, and nights filled with questions about whether we had made the right choice. But there were also moments of extraordinary joy: watching our children adapt and grow, experiencing provision in ways we never imagined, and seeing doors open that only God could have opened.
We’ve learned that following God’s call means embracing both the good and the difficult. It means trusting Him when life doesn’t make sense and finding joy in the small victories along the way. It means walking together as a family, holding each other up when the path is steep, and celebrating the ways He shows up, every single day.
Leaving it all behind is not about loss. It’s about discovery—the discovery of a life lived fully in faith, of a family united in purpose, and of the incredible blessings that come when you trust God above all else.
Our story is a reminder to anyone feeling the gentle tug of God’s call: He is faithful, His plans are higher than our fears, and the journey—though uncertain—is always worth taking. Step out in faith. Step together. Trust Him and watch Him lead you into a life beyond what you could have imagined.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
